July 2017. Conductix-Wampfler GmbH in Weil am Rhein, one of the world's leading manufacturers of systems for energy and data transmission to mobile consumers, has unified its management systems within one year and merged them into an integrated management system (IMS). For the first time, during the recertification of the quality-management system for ISO 9001, due every three years, it has also certified the environmental-management system according to DIN EN ISO 14001:2015, the occupational health and safety management system according to BS OHSAS 18001:2007, and the eco-management and auditing scheme according to EMAS III, including public environmental statement in addition to the environmental and energy management system.
“In doing this, we have successfully combined the methods and tools for meeting the requirements of different business areas in a uniform structure,” emphasized Thomas Schätzle, Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Manager and head of the project group that prepared the certification. “We have thus set a major milestone for our long-term success as a global player, making us a pioneer in the Conductix-Wampfler Group and the Delachaux Group.” Processes and tasks for the medium-sized company can now be analyzed and optimized in a holistic manner. Through the resulting synergies in the IMS, Conductix-Wampfler can use resources even more efficiently, and reduce the effort required for documentation, auditing, and training. “We are very proud to have achieved this ambitious goal within such a short time,” concluded Schätzle.
