January, 2018. Conductix-Wampfler, one of the world's leading manufacturers of systems for energy and data transmission to mobile consumers, has successfully completed the legalities for the acquisition of LJU Automatisierungstechnik GmbH from Grenzebach Maschinenbau GmbH. The transaction, contractually concluded on November 14, 2017, was brought to completion in accordance with all regulations and requirements by the planned date of December 31, 2017.
Step-by-step integration into the Conductix-Wampfler Group
"That makes LJU part of the Conductix-Wampfler family since the beginning of this year," enthuses François Bernès, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Conductix-Wampfler. LJU will now be gradually integrated into the Conductix-Wampfler Group. "We are very happy to have found Conductix-Wampfler as the right partner for LJU, and wish them all possible success in the future as well," explains Renato Luck, CEO of the Grenzebach Group.
The previous managing director of LJU Automatisierungstechnik GmbH, Günter Arztmiller, will continue to manage LJU's business affairs. Michael Eckle, Director Global Marketing, Innovation & IP at Conductix-Wampfler, will support Arztmiller as a second managing director. Together, the expanded top management team will be responsible for LJU's integration as well as shared product and solution development. The first steps have already been taken. The sales staff of LJU in Brazil, China, and the United States, previously employed by companies in the Grenzebach Group, have been incorporated into the Conductix-Wampfler sales and marketing organization in each country. "We are very happy that Grenzebach will continue to be a partner for LJU and therefore a partner of Conductix-Wampfler," emphasizes Bernès. The business relationship on both sides will not only be preserved, but also further developed.
New solutions for the automotive industry
With the product line and expertise of LJU, Conductix-Wampfler will be in a position to make a decisive expansion in the product portfolio for its customers. "Together, we can develop new solutions for the automotive industry that consist of both energy and data transmission as well as mobile control," says Michael Eckle. LJU is a provider of control and communications solutions with headquarters in Potsdam, and had been part of the Grenzebach Group since 2009. The greater part of the turnover earned by the roughly 100 employees is in the automotive industry. LJU control systems are used in electrified monorail systems, for example. "Our customers need increasingly complex complete solutions with mechatronic approaches. We will be actively addressing that trend immediately," says Eckle.
